Zoom Presentation: The Northern Colorado Front Range Nesting Bald Eagle Population–New Facts and a Bit of Fiction

November 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

Our partner organization Front Range Nesting Bald Eagle Studies is hosting a Zoom presentation on the Colorado Front Range nesting Bald Eagle population: facts and fiction.

Does the Northern Colorado Front Range now host a more urbanized bald eagle  population such as in the wet climes of south-coastal British Columbia?  Or is our bald eagle population perhaps closer in character to those found in drier, southwestern states like Arizona? Join Front Range Nesting Bald Eagle Studies as we take a look at the nesting bald eagle population of the Front Range and share insights to help answer these questions. We will cover topics including population density, nest numbers, productivity, and clarify the spatial relationship of nest sites with respect to human population density in the fast-growing Front Range. Additionally, we give a glimpse of what these birds are actually doing year-round and what they’re likely preying on in their territories.
